Chemical Peeling

For centuries humans have been peeling their skin. Egyptians uses sour milk and fruit acids on their faces and bodies. Europeans used wine that had been soured. They knew the benefits of peeling; softer skin, less pigmentation, less fine lines, smaller pore size, more firmness, and reduction of acne.
The success of the peel depends on many aspects, because no matter how light or mild of a peel we are applying it is still caustic to the skin. You may experience burning, itching, and stinging during a peel. Allergic reactions are possible with any type of skin care treatment including peels.
Some of our peels are applied to the skin and removed after 30 seconds to several minutes. Several other kinds of peels we offer are applied in layers and are not removed until 8-24 hours later.
The skin must be prepared properly and we must determine if you are a good candidate for the peel. You must fill out a health questionnaire, have a consultation, sign a release form and agree to pre and post care instructions. You must stay out of the sun and use sunscreen after having a peel.
If you experience flaking or peeling, you must not pick at your skin. Please avoid chlorine, smoking, alcohol consumption, exercise, and hot showers directly after a peel. Avoid over-heating.
One of the best products to use post peel is Eucern's Aquaphor. It can be applied over areas that have irritation or to the entire area that was peeled. Best to be used at bedtime while you sleep, since it has a thick consistency.
