When you purchase one, I suggest you do the same. I say this because I cannot tell you how many times I saw the deer-in-the-headlight look cross my client's faces when I questioned them whether or not they were applying their skincare products at night. They would fidget in their chairs, stare at the floor, play with their hair, sigh loudly and reply with numerous reasons why they weren't using their skincare at night.
Most of the time I heard the same answers. "I just forgot" or "I want to, but I am too tired at night." Well to be honest, sometimes I am pretty tired at night and I forget too. This little wonder has solved that. Not only do I not forget, but now I am excited to use what's in there. Nothing feels better when you are tired in the morning than reaching over and spritzing your face with your favorite toner. The cooling sensation wakes you up immediately. The scent of the toner makes you happy. If you are like me and you have allergies and wake up with your eyes looking like a puffer fish, then you will love grabbing one of my favorite tools out of your cute little fridge and rolling them around your swollen eyes. By the time you shower and get ready, your eyes will look considerably better, if not drastically improved. I love the way masques feel when they've been chilled. They are instantly refreshing. Sleep masques are another great item to keep in your beauty fridge! At night after washing your face, you can then use all of your products from the comfort of your bed. If you are someone that also has trouble remembering to wash your face, then I suggest putting some wipes in your nightstand or even a few in a small Ziploc bag and put those in your fridge as well. Ta-da! No more excuses! I'm recommending the fridge I purchased, along with some others. If you click on the pictures of the fridges, and purchase a fridge, I can receive compensation, at no extra cost to you. I also do not recommend anything I have not thoroughly researched or personally tried.
Hi!
We did not write the following article. Hydropeptide wrote this regarding silicones since they use them in their products. We are copying and pasting the info below because we feel there are misconceptions about silicone in skincare. Personally, we love silicone. It gives a smooth feeling of elegance to a product, doesn't clog your skin and helps your skin's own natural ability to heal. See what Hydropeptide has to say: "In the world of skincare, products that claim to include only natural ingredients have seen a huge uptick in popularity. Conversely, products that include ingredients like silicone have often been called out and demonized as damaging, even dangerous for skin. “I’ve heard from the esthetic community that silicones form a barrier over your skin that can lead to a host of negative outcomes like trapping sebum, bacteria and dead skin cells,” says Jessica McLaughlin, HydroPeptide esthetician. “Many think it increases acne breakouts or prevents moisture from reaching your skin.” Despite these claims, skincare chemists and dermatologists have argued that silicone is a prime example of a non-naturally derived ingredient that can have major benefits to the skin. Silicone in many cases has been proven to be extremely beneficial for many skin types, assisting in the absorption of other beneficial ingredients as well as preventing moisture loss. “One big misconception with silicones is that they will clog your pores,” says Dr. Neal Kitchen, Chief Geneticist and COO of HydroPeptide. “This just isn’t true. Silicones sit on the surface of your skin and protect it without entering or building up in pores.” The silicone-free movement began in the haircare industry. “Silicone got a bad name when consumers felt their hair weighed down by the silicones in 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioners,” says Erin Larson, head of education at HydroPeptide. “The bad reputation has incorrectly carried over into skincare products.” Are there any skin types that can’t use this non-natural ingredient? “In general,” says Larson, “all skin types can use silicones without any complications. In fact, they are so safe, doctors rely heavily on silicones to use as skin dressings for wounds and dermal repair.” Some of our favorite HydroPeptide products that include silicone are the HydroLock Sleep Mask and Face Lift Moisturizer. Both products use silicone to glide smoothly onto the skin without pulling, and to protect the skin from hydration loss." As we enter into the Holiday Season, we want to tell you what is up and coming.
We are once again offering dermaplaning, this will become a permanent part of our menu of services. Dermaplaning has been around for over 20 years but has recently risen again in popularity in Orlando and other areas of the country. Jolie and I are both trained in dermaplaning and did it quite frequently when we were working in the medical field. Jolie worked for a medical spa and I worked for several plastic surgeons and a dermatologist. It is a relatively quick procedure with very few side effects and best of all we offer in a soothing environment that makes getting a clinical service a lot more fun! Let us explain the steps to this treatment: Holding your skin taut, we use something called a butter blade to make feather like strokes across the skin. With a light touch we remove the peach fuzz (vellus hair) from your face. Extractions may or may not be included. We prepare an enzyme or chemical peel to apply directly after the dermaplaning. Upon removal we apply ampoules and serums, or a collagen soaked masque rich in vitamins, minerals, stem cells, or peptides. This gentle physical exfoliation gives your face a smooth look and feel. The peach fuzz trap excess skin cells which contribute to oil and dirt building up in your pores. By removing this you also have increased penetration and absorption of active ingredients applied post procedure. Dermaplaning can be combined with many other facial procedures. Unlike many other skincare facilities, we always include a mini facial, extractions (if we are doing this as an acne treatment), peel (enzyme or acid depending on skin condition) and a masque with our "Smooth as Silk" treatment. Dermafiling can be added on to some of our other treatments such such as oxygen infusion, micro current, and LED, There is little to no downtime and it is safe for pregnant women since it involves shaving the top layer of the epidermis (We omit the peel directly after) Your makeup will glide on beautifully and it is perfect in a series building up to a special event. There are some contraindications and we are listing them below: Contraindications: Allergies to metals, hypersensitive skin, rosacea, some autoimmune diseases, really inflamed cystic acne or skin with lesions and bumps. You cannot have this procedure if you have any active cold sores, open lesions, rashes, or blisters on the skin. You may not have this treatment if you are using blood thinning medications, Accutane or something similar in nature. You may not have this treatment if you are sunburned or recovering from a sunburn. It includes dermaplaning and application of serums, moisturizer, and SPF. I have been enjoying my time at Studio 51. It is a great salon with talented hair designers! Diana is also amazing at pedicures and manicures!
I have recently acquired another room upstairs and I am pleased to announce the addition of two new spa specialists. My friend Jolie Duncan and my daughter Paris Kelley. We will be adding a variety of services over the next 6 months. The newest additions to the menu of services are lash and brow tinting, lash lifts, facial waxing, and lash extensions. Stay tuned for more info coming soon! I've moved to a new location Sigh....Yep I am moving again. As frustating as it is I am hoping this will be my last move for quite some time. Sadly, at the last location they had a change in ownership and didn't want any renters so I was forced to look for a new place to practice skin care.
I have found a new home at Studio 51 which is a salon in downtown Oviedo. It is a very cute two story salon that is in a house setting. My room is upstairs next to a room with natural nail services. So you can now get a manicure or pedicure when you come for your facial. The salon also has several talented and experienced hair stylists if you are looking for someone new to color, cut, or style your hair. My children will return to school next week and I will be returning to work in my new home. I am excited to see you there! Please look at the Contact Me portion of my website for the new address or my facebook page. There is also a map on my website that shows the location as well. Does it really work?
Yes, if used per the instructions. How does it work? Your body creates bacteria on a daily basis, clogging your pores and creating breakouts. The Acne Light contains blue LEDs that kill the P. acnes bacteria, while red and infrared LEDs reduce the inflammation and redness caused by the pimples or pustules. Using your Acne Light on a daily basis destroys the bacteria, while at the same time reduces redness and inflammation, giving you control over your acne. Once my skin clears up what do I do? Once your skin is clear, continue to use the Acne Light daily for 2 more weeks. After 2 weeks use the Light every 2-3 days. Each person’s skin is unique and once your skin is clear you need to be aware of you own personal triggers that cause your acne. Use the Light more often when those triggers occur. What if I have cystic acne? The Acne Light is designed for mild to moderate acne. Many people have used the Light with success on cystic acne, depending on its severity. If you do have a cyst hold the Acne Light on the area for 15 minutes, 2 times a day to help reduce the inflammation. How long does the device last? LightStim is designed with high-end components; the LEDs should never need to be replaced. Does it work for everybody? Yes, it's not a matter of "Is it going to work for me?" it's a matter of "How long is it going to take to work?". On average it takes approximately 2-6 weeks to clear the skin. Proper use of the Light, diet, hormonal activity, environment, and hygiene play an integral part in your success. How often do I need to use the Acne Light? Daily, until your skin clears. Once your skin is clear, continue to use the Acne Light daily for 2 more weeks. After 2 weeks use the Light every 2-3 days. Can I use my existing skin care products? Yes, there is no need to change your skin care regimen. We suggest using the Acne light on clean, dry skin. If you suffer from dry skin you can use a good peptide serum or moisturizer before using the Light. You want to ensure the products you use are noncomedogenic (not tending to clog pores). Products that can cause dryness or irritation such as benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A, or products containing Vitamin A or alcohol should only be applied after using your Light. Does it really work? Yes. This is technology you can trust, initially used by NASA for wound healing in space. *Information from Light Stim I sent out an email when I first moved to my new location back in November.
